Banner's Q4X - Versitle, Rugged Laser Measurement Sensor now in Analog Models

Banner Engineering announces its industry-recognized Q4X laser distance sensor is now available with analog output. Featuring 4-20mA and 0-10 V output options, the Q4X analog models expand the variety of applications Banner’s Q4X laser distance sensor can solve, including fill level indication, part positioning, roll diameter, loop control and thickness/height verification.

Providing continuous measurement and versatile sensing performance, Q4X analog sensors provide resolution as small as 0.15 mm and cover up to a 300 mm range. The sensors deliver reliable measurement regardless of color or reflectivity of target object or background.

“While the original Q4X has become a problem solver for many of our customers’ challenging sensor applications, we discovered a need for an analog model to satisfy additional applications such as fill level verification. Advanced measurement modes, including the averaging trigger, provide more consistent measurements across inconsistent surfaces, such as pills inside a bottle,” said Brad Ragozzino, Technical Marketing Engineer, Banner Engineering. “With a combination of analog output and durable stainless steel housing with IP69K rating, the Q4X analog provides a truly unique and reliable sensing solution.”

The Q4X analog offers a simplified user experience with analog (V or mA) or distance (mm) readout from the highly visible, angled four-digit display that is easily viewed from multiple vantage points. The Q4X also offers intuitive user setup utilizing three tactile buttons conveniently located below the display.

For use in wet and high-pressure washdown environments, the Q4X is constructed with robust housing rated to IP69K. Durable FDA-grade stainless steel resists mechanical impact, over tightening and extreme vibration.

With best in class excess gain, bipolar PNP and NPN outputs, a reliable 25 to 300 mm detection range and superior ambient light immunity, the Q4X can solve even the most challenging distance-based, part-detection applications. The Q4X's versatility makes it perfect for food & beverage, automotive, pharmaceutical and many other applications.

TURCK Offers Flexible High Performance Ultrasonic Sensor Series

TURCK is pleased to announce their new family of teachable ultrasonic sensors. The new ultrasonic sensor series from TURCK enables the user to cover large sensing ranges with fewer sensor variants and short blind zones. The sensors are available in 18mm and 30mm barrel housings with sensing ranges from 40cm to 300cm. Designed for rugged industrial applications, these sensors are IP67 rated and an ideal solution for object detection and liquid level applications.

In order to offer the right sensor for every application, TURCK has increased the versatility of the individual models. The simple compact version of the RU40 and RU100 modules enables the user to set the sensing range as well as NC and NO switching outputs with a teach adapter. The standard sensor versions also enable the setting of switch windows and two separate switching points, either by a teach adapter or via a teach button directly on the sensor.

The high-end versions can be operated as a switch or as an analog sensor. Different operating modes, temperature compensation or the output function can also be set via IO-Link. If several sensors are installed next to each other, the customer can set the sensor parameters in synchronization or multiplex mode, in order to prevent mutual interference of the sensors. An optional USB master is also available which enables interface and parameterization of high-end sensors via IO-Link.

TURCK's New uprox®3 Series Features Longer Sensing Ranges in More Compact Design

TURCK announces the uprox3 series of sensors, which offers the largest switching distances of all Factor 1 sensors on the market thanks to an electronic platform that uses the latest chip set and manufacturing technologies. These technologies are a world first, enabling the creation of the uprox3 Factor 1 sensors in compact, 4mm smooth barrel and M5 designs with a 1mm switching distance, even for flush mounting. TURCK has also managed to shrink the previously most compact M8, M12 and M18 designs.

uprox3 sensors are the third generation of TURCK's uprox Factor 1 sensors. Although the existing uprox+ sensors offered large switching distances for all metals, these distances are increased by as much as 50 percent in the new sensors. It previously was unattainable to sense 3mm in the M8 design, 6mm in M12 and 10mm in M18. However, thanks to the consistent development of its uprox technology, TURCK has been able to achieve these larger switching distances without any compromises in performance. The uprox3 sensors still offer outstanding application reliability for demanding sensing tasks, but also allow for the possibility of completely new installations.

Because of their inherent immunity to magnetic fields, the uprox3 series sensors are suitable for use in many demanding industrial sectors, such as welding for the automotive and metal forming markets. The new uprox3 series will be available with robust PTFE coated sensors in M8, M12 and M18 designs. TURCK's weldguard®, which resists high heat and weld slag buildup, will also be available. Like their predecessors, all uprox3 sensors offer a high EMC stability and flexible mounting including full flush mounting, as well as precise switch points
